With Apologies To Mr. Woodchuck

Ravens do the Can Can on my ears
Peck rhythmic at my eyeballs, fast
But they're no happier than I of this
Their feast of eyeballs made of glass
Oversizing of the perches
Makes up for lack of visual holes
Black painted walls, black painted halls
Black the color of my true love's soul

I speak of things I cannot see
There is blackness all around me
The ravens tapping at the glass
Whisper secrets teletypically
Now, in my sacred Mind's Glass Eye
I only do the best I can
I see neither crows nor ravens
I turn them all into toucans

How many cans can a toucan can
If a toucan can can cans?
Can a toucan, too, can two cans?
Can a toucan can toucans too?
Can a toucan can two toucans
If a toucan can can toucans too?
If a toucan, too, can can toucans
Can a toucan, too, can you?

With oversized and useless perches
For ravenous intruders there
On a hunchback with a droopy eye
Why do I care to comb my hair?
I'm a three-legged mutant midget
Tap-dancing on a borrowed stage
Where socks are usually sold in pairs
And obtuse shoes are all the rage

So if anybody were to ask
Of rainbow tears upon my cheeks
It's just a message tapping out
Reflecting off the toucans' beaks
It's the tapping of the ravens
Leaking from a darkening mist
To the toucan feathered tap-shoes
Tapping sounds with colors just like this

How many cans can a toucan can
If a toucan can can cans?
Can a toucan, too, can two cans?
Can a toucan can toucans too?
Can a toucan can two toucans
If a toucan can can toucans too?
If a toucan, too, can can toucans
Can a toucan, too, can you?
