Mister Nobody's Fool

Take me for granted.
If this is what you choose to do.
I won't object to your decisions made.
Nor time will I spend,
Convincing myself...
No one intends to prove they can offend.

Early in my youthful days,
I may have pretended not to be offended.
By others who believed me to be,
Aloof and detached from reality.
But too real had been my introduction,
To be judged from the outside.
And not within because of my colored skin.

Yet always I was taught,
From the moment I could walk and talk.
To use my mind and not my fists.
Whenever I had the opportunity to prove,
I had an identity and not confused of it.
And quick to make known,
Wherever I stood to stand tall.
Mister Nobody's Fool I Am.
Displaying a dignity and love for my identity!

'What I see,
Is nothing but arrogance!'

'I call it pride.
What do you call your ignorance?'

'Ignorance?
Ignorance is not to know something,
Too obvious not to know.
To continue to let go misunderstood!'

'I can not believe you said that to me.'

'Unlike a few of us,
Who know our limits and restrictions.
There are those who refuse boundaries!'

'Your assessment makes no sense to me.'

'Mavericks and nonconformists.
Have never been known to obey the rules!
To then portray themselves to be victims.
With no patience to tolerate or learn,
How the game is played.'

'WHAT?'

'Okay.
Pretend you don't know what I'm saying!
