Sunset Beach.

Rhymed
Walking out across the sands,
Days sun begins to set,
In the distance a ship crosses,
Splashed I am, now wet,

Seagulls fly across the sky,
I am watching as their wings flap,
Engulfed within the cool breeze,
I sit upon mother earths lap,

Brushing my hair to one side,
A smile embraces my face,
I remove ever so gently,
My satin robe, and lace,

Naked to the world am I,
Reborn a newness I find,
Deep within my body, and soul,
Refreshed spirit in kind.

Teresa Whitney

Born and raised in Washington State as well as growing up in S. California, I now reside in Mooresville N. C. for the past 20 yrs. A wife for 30 yrs before loosing my late husband, a mother of 2 son's , grandmother of 6 children & great grandmother of 2 . College educated with an AA in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. A past owner of 2 state licensed board and care homes for the elderly. I have traveled the U.S. over and settled in North Carolina. My family is here and new friends I have made over the years. I am an avid Poetry writer enjoying all styles of Poetry, looking forward to having my 1st Poem book published soon. more…
