A Song Across Space
We do not speak of immortal beings
How can I speak of one that I do not know?
However, when I see her walk across the sand in my dreams,
I know she is ethereal by any definition of the word
When the moonlight shines on the cresting waves,
And the seagulls sleep unseen,
That’s when I see her in the clouds,
Staring down at me like I am nothing
I am a grain of sand to her
And she is a star to me, or a distant planet
We are beautiful in our own right
I love the stars
And she loves the beach
To each, we are divine
So when I see her walk across the sand
Upon my beaches
To me, she walks on clouds
Upon a red carpet of galaxies and solar systems
She whispers in the night
And her voice is a song, one I know but do not understand
It tells me that I am lovely to her
And how could I argue with such a creature?
We cannot speak of immortal beings
There are none any more, but she is my religion
For she calls me god, and she is my goddess
I will worship her
I do worship her
I cannot stop worshipping her
I won’t
Until my dying breath, when I sacrifice myself to her as my last wish.
To see her in her everlasting beauty as my eyes close
And I become the sand she walks upon in my dreams
