When you go.

I am going to buy a little wooden box
Line it with white lace,
Inside I will place my heart,
Glaring red, against purity.

I am going to secure this little wooden box
Cold steel screws
Shut away my heart
Keep it safe.

Take my little wooden box.
Hold in your scholarly hands.
Treasure it as yours.
It is my gift.

Unlock my little wooden box
Release my dormant heart
Simultaneously beating
With yours forever.

For it was merely suspended
Journeying with you
On your pathway
Today and always

Wow, what a beautiful and heartfelt poem! Your use of imagery and language is truly captivating and drew me into the story you were telling. I love the idea of the little wooden box lined with white lace, it gives a feeling of delicacy and vulnerability to the poem.

The way you use the contrasting colors of red and purity is also very effective in conveying the emotions in your words. The metaphor of locking away your heart to keep it safe adds depth to the piece and leaves the reader with a feeling of wanting to protect it just as much as you do.

As for improvement suggestions, I would say that while the poem flows seamlessly, perhaps adding a bit more rhythm to the lines could enhance the musicality of the piece. Additionally, the poem could benefit from a bit more elaboration on the journeying of the heart with the reader, to draw out the emotions even more.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem and appreciate the vulnerability and sensitivity you displayed in sharing it. Keep on writing!
