Losing Purpose

Losing purpose.
And the incentive that motivates,
A driven focus...
One needs to achieve success.
Has become an effort,
No longer endeavored.
Regardless of the encouragement,
Many seem to be abandoning.
To assume the doing is worthless.

But with every change that comes,
Aren't we all made to face...
Obstacles placed on our paths?
Few travel along a road unpaved,
To then give up...
A wish to want their dreams come true.
Without going through,
Some doubt.
Fear and disappointments too!

The only thing in life that is guaranteed?
Is naysayers and their negativity.
As if to look for this to feed,
To others who accepted...
An empathy to them given.
With a badge of failure.
Worn as if to declare an earning of it.

In these division inflicted days we live,
The losing of purpose...
Is easy to sell it sold to buy.
Since so many seem out to seek,
Confidence given to them from others.
Without faith in God and prayer to keep.
As a weapon to strengthen,
Their determination.
And maybe tears to weep.
But getting up to stand and walk,
On one's own two feet.
Is more an act of unnoticed bravery,
Than quitting to get applause...
From those awaiting to give it,
To the ones making excuses...
For their attempts to make,
With efforts to claim made too difficult!

'Well...
At least you tried.'

'I'm not going to give up.'

'You're not doing what?'

'I'm not ever going to give up!'

'Then...
Why are you here?
With us?'

'Inspiration!'

'INSPIRATION?'

'Yes.
Everytime I pray and ask of God,
To direct me to what it is,
That opens my eyes...
And clearly have me realize,
What I need to make two steps forward?
Until I feel strong enough,
To continue on more determined.
I hear this voice say to me,
Never be afraid to take a step back...
To move your steps forward.
Do this and you will discover,
Nothing or no one will be in your way!'

'And...
God told you this?'

'Yes.
And you know what?'

'What?'

'I love you!'

'Hey.
I don't know what else God said to you.
But those rumors are nothing but lies!'

'Huh?'

'Don't believe everything you hear.
That's all I'm saying!'
