Through a Nation’s Looking Glass
With public officials frequently on trial.
The Republic is admittedly livid.
So ambitiously unethically daring.
Deceptions are “righteously” incorrigibly — nastily given.
The nation experiences an ethical dip.
When we find its democracy in peril.
With public officials not giving a hoot.
Desiring only in holding on over trustworthiness.
To make a “Big Lie” become fad.
Finding alternative directions.
To restore its world leadership power.
America must pledge order with equal representation.
About this poem
A Snap Shot of The-State-of-the-Nation in 2022. This poem invites the reader to engage in reflection, and is written as a word puzzle, with a play on words, somewhat in the form of an acronym , where the second line of each two-line stanza of a six-stanza poem, contains a spelling of the message of the first line in each stanza of the poem, entitled “Through a Nation’s Looking Glass” which is named partially to honor the creative genius of the mathematical linguist, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (pen name, Lewis Carroll), author of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. ” more »
