This Is The Deal
People seem to only care about others,
If they have been made aware...
To at least pretend,
They can feel and should be caring.
Instead of over re-acting,
When their thoughtlessness...
Is brought to their attention.
After having that focus taken away,
From comparing themselves...
To people they have never met or will!
And yet...
Continue to disrespect the very ones,
Who may sign their paychecks.
People are quick to dismiss,
Someone not out seeking to impress.
Without dressed from head to toe,
In a clown costume!
'What is this 'thing' you have for clowns?'
'As a child,
I saw them around all the time.
Carrying their briefcases.
And in tailored suits and silk ties.
So we as children called them clowns.
Dressing up to pretend,
To be something they were not.'
'They are not clowns.
They are important business people.'
'Doing whose business?
And for what to get done?'
'They do business for others,
That can not do it for themselves.'
'Oh.
So why aren't they called 'Care Providers?'
'That would put them,
In a category of people...
Who actually care about what they do,
And for others to get done with no fuss.'
'And those dressed up like clowns...
Caring less of the business done they do,
Is the reason the mess they make...
Smells up every place they go.
Right?
LOL...'
'So...
Why call them clowns?'
'I have never seen one happy.
Or smiling as if glad,
To provide and be of relief to others.
What a constipated position to be in!
You get it?
LOL...
I can't take anymore.'
'Look.
This is the deal.
Your business,
Is not their business to take care of.'
'Thank God.
I couldn't imagine it.
And I wouldn't want that any other way.
I happen to enjoy,
Taking care of my own business.'
'I am completely confused.
What is or was this conversation about?'
'It was about clowns.
Then 'someone' thought it best,
To flush the subject down the toilet.'
'I don't get it.'
'I know.
Just think of the ones,
Seriously trying to understand...
Why?
But somehow they couldn't,
Accept things as they were.
Before making a mountain,
From a molehill.
And now squirrels sit back and watch...
Nuts chasing each other.
Just for thrills.'
'This...
Is crazy.'
'And now you notice.
A little late.
But welcome to the party!'
