ULULATION

A wall of sound approaching
From some distant place,
Evil non-human creatures?
Or members of the human race?

Ululation through the night
Like the awful buzz of death,
Making listeners stand and stare
Afraid to release a single breath.

Far away entities are screaming
Or possibly they are crying?
Is there a riot now going on?
Are innocents far off dying?

Unrelenting murmuring comes
Like the sounds of a night stream,
Hustling, bustling outside sight
A mirage?  Or psychedelic dream?

Obscure sounds reverberate
Through the evil twilight sky,
Merrymakers in joyous revel?
Or the guileless about to die?

Ululation through the night
A wall of sound approaching,
Upon your waking, daytime life
Are lucid dreams encroaching?

Distant sounds are swaying
Like some colossal palm tree,
Filling your ears like tinnitus
Like swarming of angry bees.

Sound bytes from everywhere
Imploding within your ears,
Bringing up waking nightmares
Filling your days with fears.
