Prairies of the desert sun

Prairies of the desert sun

Crimson sunsets speak to ancient ghosts
amidst the swirling dust
Time stands still under purple shadows
In gardens of the desert sun

Boundless space of open beauty
Stream through all your senses
Vastness stretch beyond boundless shores
Clouds sweep by amidst
the golden hues and purple sage

Among the desert plains
Wind spun wild flowers dance on sanded landscapes
Shadows cast from wild grass
And cactus flowers blossom
under ochre sands
Sound of silence in whirling winds and bleached
Dried bones of grey and white

Summer moons and stars
that shine in fields of grazing grains
Where grasses sing
passed setting suns and pale blue skies
Mysteries unfold in cycles of season tides
Summer rains that bring all to life
in the desert ruins

Where mere cats play
amidst the silent dunes
Pale muted hues of pastel tones
Stillness of solitude where
freedom breaths of cactus trees
Transitory blooming of wild seed
Suspension of time dissolves
into pastures of plenty
On bright lit summer days

The spirit of deserts live beneath
the midnight moon and endless stars
Grass blades dance to the wind
Sounds of crickets leap
Amongst the cactus pears
The sparrows dance in open skies
Sculpted portraits against
horizons of the rising sun

The imagery of crimson sunsets, swirling dust, and purple shadows evokes a sense of timelessness and ancient spirits lingering in the arid expanse. The description of boundless space, wild flowers dancing in the wind, and the sound of silence amidst the desert plains creates a tranquil and immersive experience for the reader. The poem skillfully weaves together elements of nature, solitude, and freedom, portraying the desert as a place where life and stillness harmonize in a delicate balance.
