The Great Plastic Wild-Fire

It seems as though a year ago
Or more than a century if you like
That fair people, rich and beautiful
Laid waste to their wonderful life

I don't remember when it began
But what is plain is how it ended
And some fair panoramic record was kept
By means of clicking sadistic lenses

The people stood and watched
As mountains began to crumble
Little caring of beauty's decaying
Acting momentarily humble

Near and far they came to see
Chasing after tremblings
Touring flaming forests
Witnessing nature's endings

But now their good times are over
Their stories all at an end
For the wild-fire has burned the clover
And it's too late to make amends...

About this poem
