Change

Pull the trigger, pa pa pa
Look, two's down
From those we call our national papa
"Hail thou who sits on the thrown"
Voices from amongst whom thy fellow has been murdered...
Blood, tears and torture
Even the labour of our hero's past holds no stand
Lament, pain and frustration all in the name of serving our father's land
Land said to be green, now is red
Red not representing love,but blood
Even "bright future" is an individual struggle
Talk more of greener pastures from a red soil
"Where peace and unity reign"
This, our daily prayer point
God Abeg our recitation
Waking everyday, trying to untangle
And keeping our hustle
We deserve better than a red flag
Just a little change,is all we seek.

About this poem

It's just about our daily struggles and sorrows How much pains and hurt we've gotten from a county we expected more And how we deserve a change...we are citizens we have rights!
