Stolen happiness

I couldn't bear it anymore.
I couldn't stand to what you told me
Initially the news sounded cozen The reaction from your face, the vigor and the manner you spoke got me dazed
Took a dozen of digoxin, yet my heart was frozen
My breath was shortened, I think I'm suffering from dyspnea
My happiness was taken away from me, all of a sudden.
I've never known joy, thought happiness is free
So all this while, was enslaved to your love
Chose to bring nothing but inflicted pain
For your love I had to drain
Cause of you, I have to detain from seeing others
How could I live a normal life ?After a wasteful time with you, I ruined my life
I'm sick in the head, what am I living for?
How can I survive this?
I asked myself but then I believed I can turn over my life to a purposeful one if only I override whatever happened
Blind spot, couldn't give a thought how and when we met
You should have waited to tell me this on my resting day
When I'm dead and gone
The last time I heard, you said you'll love me till we wrinkle
We ain't midway into the year, and you're tearing my heart apart
I showed you love like never before
Always there for you when you needed me the most
What did you do?
You betrayed the love I had for you for no reason
Never thought of a day like this Now I'm sad and sober.
Not oblivious of the promises and the affection we made and shared with each other
So, then I ask, what happened? What changed?
Things change, so people change It shouldn't sound strange to me, I get it now, and it's cool
You left me behind when I needed you
I always got your back but you made me a solitaire
You've messed up my life
This whole thing makes me feel I'm in the wilderness cause that's a place with no life
Caged happiness, sorrow and uneasy life
Getting used to it now, I'm growing up and getting ride over it
Glad that gradually I'm getting back to my real self
I pray you wouldn't experience an iota of what I went through is just as hell
For me, I'm healing, I know I'll be okay
I hope someday when the morning sun rises, my happiness will be rekindled
The scars drawn on my heart make me stronger
There's more to love than beauty, money and sex
None of them can bring you happiness
True love is what makes you happy

About this poem

Stolen happiness is a poem that speaks a lot more about giving your all, feelings and love to someone you ever loved and then you got betrayed. She left you behind and went in for a different person. Now, your happiness or source of joy had been shut.
