A Fisherman's Song

Go away cunning eater,
go yonder and follow the flowing current

Come, voracious eater like the rushing in of a flood
come and snatch the bait from my calm hook

Does the bride dances for the groom to look away?
take me like the groom, stop me from dangling.

come and entertain me on this silent rivers
With splashes like flash of an eagle.

About this poem

A song that never drops from our lips when we caught nothing. This song keeps us company. We were superstitious that this song drives cunning fish away. It reminds me of my childhood on the river.
