Leaving

I feel the urge to leave
For no particular reason
The feeling crept up on me
And follows me season to season
I want to drop everyone
Be by myself
To simply bask in the sun
And read books off my shelf
I don't want burdens and societal pressure
Just want to enjoy things that bring me pleasure
Don't want to talk
Or go for a walk
Don't even want a chat about weather
I want to flee and escape
But poetry is the only true place
Place where I can run free
With no one around, I can truly breathe
No one around
No one around
I am free, not tied down
I can soar, I am not bound
No one around, that's my dream
But I'm stuck here forever
Trying not to scream
