Bringing the Boat Out

Free verse
Have you ever brought

The boat out?

Coolness of the morning

Flying fish cavorting

And glad that you appeared.

Remembering swim-less past years

When landlubber missed

The whole thrill.

Troubled by the briny spot

And full of doubts and fears.

But now you venture seaside

The smell just like a tonic.

The sounds close to your Bloodline.

The throttle brings the play.

Sun-up roseate

The fish can hardly wait

And you your line dispensing

A Mariner's grand Day.
