The Foolish Gallant
There once was a man, oh so grand,
Whose heart was as weak as his hands.
He'd fall in love at the drop of a hat,
With every girl, short or tall, fat or thin, that
He'd see on the street, or on the train,
He'd even fall for a girl with a permanent stain.
He'd swoon and he'd sigh, and he'd bat his eye,
But alas, his love was always denied.
For every girl had a boyfriend, or a spouse,
Leaving our fool with a broken heart, looking for the next blouse.
But still he'd persist, with a hopeful gleam,
Searching for love, like a crazy dream.
One day, he met a girl, oh so sweet,
She was kind and caring, and oh so petite.
He fell for her hard, like a ton of bricks,
But alas, she too had a boyfriend, six.
But our foolish gallant, didn't give up the fight,
He knew true love, would come to him, just right.
So, he'll keep on trying, with all his might,
Until he finds the one, to hold him tight.
So, if you ever see him, on the street,
With a rose in his hand, and head at his feet,
Don't laugh or point, just give a smile,
For he's just a hopeless romantic, in search of his true love's aisle.
