This is such a heartbreaking but beautiful tribute. The depth of your heart and soul laid bare for all is such a powerful connector. Thank you for sharing this painful time in your life journey.

Thank you very much. I entered this one into the contest simply to give our little Cammie his voice and to tell his story and not to necessarily win a prize. It was both medicinal and emotional to conjure and complete but was also a necessity. Life isn't always fair, but we still have our love to keep his spirit alive. You are greatly appreciated, my dear.

I know that baby Cameron has his wings uncle Steve. I just saw him playing with baby Jackie; my nephew, who died from SIDS 50-yrs ago. I think they were fighting over a football. I find it rare that an uncle was/is so closely attached to his brother's emotions and to hear the heart-break that still resonates through you and your family. Your soul is deep and rich, and I consider myself blessed to know you. This is a beautiful tribute Steve. Thanks for sharing.

The pain I feel is for my brother. I am not injecting myself into a pain he is entitled to, but rather into his pain as someone I love more than anything. I can never forget seeing him kneeling at Cameron's casket grieving beyond word. I would have gladly given myself in that moment to relieve him of his pain and to offer Cam a life. Unfortunately, life does not compromise, nor does death. And so here we are left with questions only. Thank you for your kindness, Robin.

Thank you very much Kaytee. I simply needed to give voice to innocence that was given very little.

I find the emotion and rhyming to be excellent and it reads as a story that really pulls the reader in.

Thank you very much. This is my brother's and our family's true story. It had to be told and was entered more just to honor Cameron than to win a contest. :-)

I was drenched in emotion while reading this poem. Every stanza held so much meaning, with all the depicted sentiments of grief and heartache. The poem also seemed to flow well, and so the emotions I felt while reading the poem were very little disrupted. Beautiful poem, capturing the essence of such a sorrowful happening.
