babies tiptoe out of the womb

babies tiptoe out of the womb
not to wake the dead

the hair of the dead grows from the ground
like the fur of a sad beast

people bask in that hair
detached from the days

the winter wind over their heads
could sharpen knives

children try to exchange maternal salt
on the slippery bubble of memory

it has what happens after the words
"dad give me a hand"

I'm not sure what's going on here. It sounds fascinating but I am having a hard time actually grasping the concept. Little insight would be much appreciated. Thank you for sharing.
