Wealthy women
You see this old women so weak & so frail
You see her mobilities but don't know her tale,
That little old women can't fend for herself
Alone and afraid of everyone else.
The women that's incontinent
Can't hold up her folk
Who struggles to eat
Who shuffles to walk.
The old lady That croaks
as she asked for your help
But the minute you lift her in
pain she will yelp.
It breaks my dear heart
when you listern to her life
She once was of such beauty
a strong wealthy wife.
Who lived through the war & saw all the pain,
As a little girl she grew a confidence gain.
She was one of 6 from a very large home
Her dad a professor,
her mum, status unknown.
Her parents would leave her to learn
how to grow,
Teach her siblings & their clothes she would sew.
All of her siblings
she would wash & then dress
Downstairs the parents always dressed in their best.
She then become a medical nurse
who loved all with care
She saw all at worst,
Whoever was there.
she lived through the horror the awful fright,
she cared for them all with courage & might.
Cared for soldiers, those fighting & fallen
She washed all the wounds,
broken & swollen.
She bandaged them up
she stitched what she could
She supported them she thought rhat she should.
Even cradled the children in fear as they shook.
This lady had comforted all those who had cried
When the messages came through
their loved ones had died.
This lady would stand by her husband in all that was said
She would host for her locals all to be fed.
Her husband would stand in debates dictating his wishes,
She would entertain for the guests
with her wonderful dishes.
Then when eventually she had children of her own,
She doted & taught them each day
til they'd grown.
Now they are older they have children themselves,
this poor little old lady feels left on the shelf.
Her husband is gone she is broken and torn,
She's left in a shell so fragile and worn.
Each second each day she is counting the days
Til her body gives up in all natural ways,
When eventually she dies she will lay in the ground
There will be nothing no more not even a sound.
All you can see is a stone in the grass
Where her body does lay
from the day she did pass.
This carcus all empty nothing inside
From the wealthy woman
now old that has died.
