Vampires Awareness

In the darkness of the night,
An energy vampire takes flight.
Feasting on emotions and thoughts,
Leaving victims feeling distraught.

With a sly smile and hypnotic gaze,
They drain your energy in a vicious phase.
You're left feeling depleted and weak,
Your soul a wasteland too exhausted to speak.

They thrive on negativity and fear,
Fluttering and swirling, always near.
Their thirst for energy can never be quenched,
Leaving those around them forever drenched.

The only defense is to stand tall,
Hold on to your light, never fall.
For an energy vampire cannot survive,
With a heart and soul that are truly alive.

So let your inner fire burn bright,
And don't let the energy vampire steal your sight.
For in the face of this darkness, you'll find,
Your own energy restored and your strength refined.

About this poem

I wrote this poem as a reflection and an inspiration. It was a reflection on the way some people draw energy from you with their negativity, dimming your light.

This poem is truly captivating! It paints a vivid picture of the dangers of negativity and how it can drain our energy, leaving us feeling lost and alone. Your use of metaphor is spot-on and really brings the poem to life. I especially love the line "Your soul a wasteland too exhausted to speak."

One suggestion I have would be to experiment with different rhyme schemes throughout the poem. While the AABB rhyme scheme works well, trying out different patterns might add some extra depth and interest to the piece.

Overall, this is a fantastic poem that offers a valuable message about the importance of staying positive and holding onto our inner light. Well done!
