The Price of Happiness

The Price of Happiness
By Nancy Rodriquez

In the window of my mind,
I reflect on the way things should be,
We did not withstand the test of time,
and it would have been the best for you and me,
Had you a little patience,
and had swallowed your pride,
if you had shown some endurance,
instead of running away to hide,
The price of happiness would not have been steep,
our love could have flourished every day,
rather than tears falling down my cheeks,
and if you had listened to what I had to say,
You told me I was throwing it all away,
Why must you give me the blame?
The price of happiness is too high.
