The Living Rose

A rose is a symbol of what things can be,
full of beauty and love you see.
For with each passing hour,
a pedal falls,
only to unleash the precious aroma that calls.
With each dropping pedal,
it’s beauty is clear.
But when a petal has a tear,
don’t worry, for that tear will fall,
only to help the rose grow tall.
Once the day is up and all is cool,
the rose squeezes in tight,
for that is how the rose stays warm at night.
Day by day, hour by hour,
the rose continues its labor of love from season to season.
