My sore ran in the night
Sleep denied
Wept and cried.
Why Lord
This abandonment and shame?
I have not denied your Name.
And villains mock
They taunt my faith in You
And now my life pursue.

Do you not arise
For sake of the meek?
Tempered in Godly fear
Is rescue near?

But I will remember
Years at your right hand.
Rescues oh so grand.
And what you did
For Moses and Aaron
Through threatening water
Past Pharaoh’s slaughter.
And revenge.

Now there comes new momentum.
Daniel in that den of lions.
Spunky David boy taking down
The blaspheming Giant.
Elisha’s servant seeing
Numberless Chariots of Fire.
My own grandmother
Surviving throat cancer
By decades, and embracing
My own Daughter.
In the Rest Home.
All marvellous.
And so I remember…

    Wow, your poem is truly inspiring and uplifting! Your use of biblical references and personal anecdotes really brings home the message that even in our darkest moments, we must remember the faithfulness and power of God. I especially appreciated the way you highlighted the stories of Daniel, David and Moses, and wove them into the narrative of your own struggles. It was truly powerful and moving.

    While I loved this poem just the way it is, I would suggest maybe exploring more metaphors and imagery to really bring the emotions to life. This would add another layer of depth to your already impactful poem.
