Beloved laid to rest

Life is like the shifting sands
Unforeseeable, beyond our hands

I had my beloved just by my side
Now i wonder, where did she hide?

Extended my hand, trying to reach out to her
Looked for the missing piece, it all became too blur

I screamed and screamed, she didn't look behind
I knew she loved me, but I was too blind

Her lifeless body, lying on that bed
Had too many tears, too little to shed

Will she return if I call her name again?
Or that will go unheard, all in vain?

I'm sorry, I am, my heart aches so
Please, make her come back, won't ever let her go

Didn't make it on time, she whispered my name
Was reckless then, it was all a game

She won't be coming back, I won't be forgiven
From her warmth and embrace, i'll be forbidden

Yet He's there, taking care of her better than I
So, which of the favours of my Lord will I deny?
