The Highest Protection
A thousand may fall at your side,
Twenty thousand at your right hand;
But will not come if you defied,
As to what the Lord does command.
For you only look with your eyes,
Seeing the reward from evil;
And unbeknownst to your demise,
You are working for the devil.
The Lord is not your dwelling place,
And your habitat is in the dark;
No concern that what you may face,
What or where you might embark?
Evil is allowed to befall,
Epidemics come near your tent;
Unless you listen for the call,
As the Lord asks you to repent.
He will charge His angels to halt,
Through the night and during the day;
Of any aggressive assault,
That could be causing you to stray.
They will bear you up on their hands,
Striking your foot against a stone;
Not giving in to their demands,
Cast them out to the great unknown.
You will tread upon the lion,
Trample the serpent under feet;
Till the arrival of Zion,
And enter there to take your seat.
