Lasting Love

A LOVE SO INTIMATE
Together we experience love so intimate
Sweet, like the aroma of fresh baked cakes
Leaves a lingering taste on the palate
Many years love sick, but it was worth the wait
As today each other we appreciate
A love that just continues to mutate

A love stronger than corals
Decorated with high morals
Means we have fewer quarrels
And earns us both laurels

A love based on mutual respect
On different levels we connect
Interference in our union we reject
And in retrospect
You were the architect
Of a love with a strong magnetic effect

You are caring, considerate
Always willing to accommodate
Your good looks just accentuate
How adorable you are, affectionate

Like a cedar in the forest
Strong personality, but modest
A lily in the valley you cherished
Fragrant, delicate, you promised
To love, protect, cherish

Our winters have passed
The rains are over
In harmony with the forecast
Blossoms have appeared in the land at last
Our storehouse of love did outlast
The storms that threatened and overcast
A garden of love so vast

This love was meant to be
Feels like our destiny
Too much chemistry
Locked in ecstasy
