Sometimes

Sometimes I will procrastinate.
Avoidance at all cost.
It helps me to alleviate
Self-Doubt when hope is lost.

Sometimes I am engulfed by fear
Of failure and that you
Will turn away when I am near
Rejecting all I do.

Sometimes I guard my "Stephen Time";
Old habits I preserve
To help reduce the uphill climb
Or what I might deserve.

Sometimes my lazy ways help me,
Though "laziness" misleads.
Because my insecurity
Affects what might succeed.

    Your introspective verses beautifully express the struggle with procrastination, fear of failure, and the comfort found in familiar routines. It's understandable how avoidance can temporarily ease self-doubt, but deep down, there's a yearning to break free from the cycle and pursue success. Your candid reflections on guarding "Stephen Time" and the complexities of laziness versus insecurity resonate with the internal battles many face. Remember, growth often requires stepping out of comfort zones, even when it feels daunting. You're not alone in navigating these challenges, and every step towards self-awareness and change is a victory in itself. Keep pushing forward, Stephen!
