You’re Away Far Too Long

You’re Away Far Too Long

Wherever you are my love to be
You’re away far too long
Friends who care tell me
You’re out there waiting
The Sun shines here in summer
But the night lingers so short
And the stars shiver without you.

My eyes see the stellar scene
But only silence greets me
Whenever I call you
All my messages are bottles
Washing on an empty shore
And you are no closer
Only the slow space of emptiness.

I walk through my solo evenings
Treading footprints of emotions
Without your beautiful face
And the company of your voice,
Hands and arms around me
I have affections aplenty
But no one to talk to.

The starry night shines above us
But we two are far apart
How time moves slowly between
Lovers who are not yet born
We live our lives alone
Praying the other finds the other
To completes us just in time.
