Quick To Express
Quick to hear and heard to express.
That it takes a village,
To raise a child.
For those within the village,
Praying with wishes for that child's success.
Yet...
Who is it bringing into the village,
That proof that protects...
Examples of success to accept and respect it?
With a knowing it takes,
Sacrifice with effort to endeavor.
And support to understand and comprehend,
A village can not alone survive...
On words to hear heard said.
Leaving the people left to perceive,
Those who achieve success eventually...
Should not feel offended,
If their accomplishments are treated...
As a way to discourage children,
From believing themselves better than others.
With a doing to wish,
To share and contribute knowledge obtained.
Away from the village yet to bring back.
But not accepted by the ones,
Not to have that opportunity.
Yet will express their envy and jealousy.
To say and make unwarranted claims,
About one who returns...
Wanting attention given to get.
While tolerating mistreatment,
As if committed to permit their lives to live...
Devoted to the continuance of ignorance.
Quick to hear and heard to express,
By villagers who can not accept...
The meaning of progress and its benefits.
'The village has failed our children!'
No.
The village has remained the same.
It is the people living in it,
Refusing to change their perception...
Of what they mean,
By claiming to stay 'down to Earth'.
Isolated and left behind.
In comfort zones to moan and whine,
About how it had been...
When they were children.
To stay children and not grow up!
As most adults learn to choose and do.
'The village has failed our children!'
No.
Whatever failure experienced by the children?
Had not been created by the village.
But the people living in it.
Defending to protect an accepted ignorance!
'We need funding,
To improve our circumstances.'
With a doing to prove what?
You are prepared with incentive.
Desire and motivation.
To fund what?
More complaints and blame to place on who?
