Let Her Go

I remember when she was
mine and I was hers we
were happy and loved
each other so.

But those days are gone
now and she no longer loves
me or maybe she never
really loved me at all.

This painful truth that I
wish so much to be a
lie is true, that my love now
loves another and still
I cannot let her go.

I know she is not lonely,
that someone else is
now holding her at night,
no she is not lonely
still I cannot let her go.

How do I erase her memory
when I still care so much,
how can i forget how much
I love her.

There is a pain in my
heart when it beats
because it still beats
her name.

So lonely are the nights
and I, alone with empty
arms that still long to hold
her.

She let me go and im
Left to wonder, Did I hold
on too tightly or maybe
not enough.

she found another lover
It hurts so much but
still i cannot let her
go.
