savior
An author wrote “death is a savior”
It suppresses pain,
And saves soul from being devoured
If truth it is, then!
My call is to the great Azrael
Who is exalted,
Whose wings shine…
Come to me in the name of “The One”
Come to me in the name of “Truth”
Come to me in the name of “Absolute”
Come to me in the name of “Divine”
Come and hold me in your arms
Come and relieve me of my pain
Take my soul to, the world
Where it belongs…
About this poem
This poem contemplates death as a potential savior from pain and protector of the soul. It presents the idea that death can suppress pain and save the soul from harm. The author questions the truth of this notion but invokes Azrael, the angel of death, with various divine names, inviting the angel to come and provide relief. The poem expresses a yearning for Azrael's presence, to be held and freed from suffering. The final lines suggest a longing for the soul to be taken to its rightful place, possibly signifying an afterlife. Through religious and spiritual imagery, the poem delves into the complexity of mortality, suffering, and the possibility of transcendence through death. Overall, it explores the dual nature of death as both a potential liberator from pain and a gateway to a higher realm. more »
