Level Playing Field

Level Playing Field

Ever notice how every field of play
Has no bumps, pot holes or hills
There are no obstacles
Getting in your way
Ready to ruin your running
A level playing field
Allows everyone a fair game
The kind of place
For fun and games
A real domain of democracy.

The retro version of the world
Restricts you within walls
Artificial fences and chains
Designed to limit you
Controlling your movement
To the point of no joy
And your dream of playing
Your best is arrested
Play is forbidden
In favor of a prison.

The game is designed for joy
Play is our natural state
We learn to get along
Bringing out our better angels
As we work together
The level playing field is
Awakening dreams
Free to roam at will
Smiling as we enjoy ourselves
As children of Heaven.
