Gardens

the gardens of Babylon never existed did they?
but we pretend they did because it would have been beautiful

we'll never know what happens to the world once we leave it we just leave
and hope others will think of a way to be better than us

we never know if the next best thing is right behind the corner before we turn, we just hope it's not a cliff
i want things to go back to the way they were

i hate change
 everyone does
everyone dies
everyone stops
everyone lies
you've lied once
was it worth it?

too many questions confuse the minds of those with lies covering the spaces for the juices of the truth to drip through

it's too hard to bear the silence caused by the dark canyon of deceit inside my head but if a sliver of light was to shine through you would all be blinded and wish for the curtains to be closed again

and while i have no proof it was ever real i pretend vou're still here because it would have been beautiful
