Hope

Why do i feel
terribly alone?

Although,
there are people

all around
Who care

i need a friend
who listens with their heart

to what i need
to feel good about

What i am trying
to do in life

I need to pray,

not just any prayer
but to step outside myself

To communicate with the creator
As directly as is humanly possible,

As if it matters what we talk about
Just as if speaking eye to eye,

Heart to heart

with another human being
we feel, who really cares about us

i believe this to be natural,
a normal part of living

as free from wanting things
that only come and go

In the distraction of everyday life

existence with a purpose to be

This is my only religion

This is my hope,

not only for me,

But in all
our lives
