Moments
In that moment crossed my mind, a tale I once read,
of an invisible string, made of thin red thread
It tied around the pinkies of two destined souls,
meant to be together, until grey and old
It never broke, nor untied, steady it held
It knotted and pulled, yet never compelled
I once remembered of your name written,
in scriptures and stories on papers, bitten
There it reads, in brightness so clear
your title, your honour, a tile of tears
Surrounded by diamonds, an expensive chandelier
Loud heartbeats whisper, thats all we hear
The light of moon was poured in the sea
The beauty of your heart, that’s all I could see
And if my mind forgets, my heart won’t be at ease,
I will love you with my soul, that is my peace
Those moments I wished to share with you
Those moments of light that turned to blue
Those moments I struggled to speak to you
Those moments I wished you had just knew
I wept in those moments but you did not see
I dreamt under stars, to plant with you, a rose tree
I slept not a wink, not an hour, nor degree
I stepped in your vision, one two three
times had your face never left my mind
I would smile at you, but you would stare blind
Although it hurt for me to say,
He’s kind, he’s busy, he’s smart, it’s okay
I wish I had some courage in me,
to walk up to you and say exactly what I see
But my heart would run away and I could barely speak,
I was scared to screw up, yes I was too weak
I remember that day like it was yesterday,
The day we spoke like life wasn’t in the way
A clear road of busyness yet no one was there,
It was just me, you and your perfect hair
It felt as though we’ve always known each other
I felt as though that moment was forever
Moments I dream of long walks in the rain, under red umbrellas, and silver chains
Your black rings and my gold ones too,
unrusted and perfect, we’d wear them through
Moments where I’d smile by just staring at your face,
I promise I wasn’t weird, I simply wanted to know your heart and it’s pace
I wanted to be your friend, not chase,
yet my heart was set out, and continued to race
Until the stars fade away, and the planets collide
Until the sun doesn’t set and the oceans are dried
Until then, for you, I will always wish
Until the end, with you, every moment I want to cherish
About this poem
I wrote this in a couple days and it was partially my creative imagination, but also from my heart. I was inspired by someone who I really admired.
