The If’s of Life

If wishes fell like rain, then certainty I am a storm.
For I have not an explanation of the madness within my very form.
Cause, though I wish upon every single star.
I know I will never even get close to that far.

If’s, why’s, where’s, and when’s,
No matter the conjunction, questions never end.
It’s the if’s of life,
Treasured words if taken a glance.

But, the closer you look- the more you see,
An eternal dance- just for you and me.
Swaying like flames, almost throughout the whole sky.
I think that’s the reason why I still ask If’s, where’s, when’s, and why’s.

About this poem

I wrote this poem about questions. I always have found myself thinking, “why do I do this or why am I so dumb for writing this.” But, I struggle to remember that almost every decision in this world is a, “if.” So, I should live without bother. I think this poem helped me explain my thoughts through words and hope others can enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.
