Let there be burning
I do remember
a scene with my classmate.
“Which version of relationship
we prefer to take?”
“Is someone you love
or on the contrary?”
She prefers the latter
while I’m polar opposite.
I deeply appreciate
a sentence in an official history.
“Just like the moth
repairs to the fire,
how's that possible
to cherish the body out of being afire?”
Let there be burning
as if no following year.
I’ll be willing
to fuel my entire soul.
In the gardens of Tyre
there are pomegranate-flowers.
Yet they’re still incapable
of comparing the beauty of yours.
Like the travellers in the rainless clod
who are thirsty for water of a single drop.
It’s my heart that bows to the ground
as believers are devoted to their Lord.
About this poem
I remember a poem named As long as forever by Starry Eyes which I read in middle school days and found it quite touching, bring me to tears and tug at my heartstrings. I truly like this, I was also inspired by it to write something I don't know if I can cheekily call it a poem on Sep 12th.
