The Haunting Memory
The Haunting Memory
I try to forget, but I can't erase
The haunting memory of your face
The way you smiled, the way you spoke
The way you left, the way you broke
My heart into a thousand pieces
That never heal, that never cease
To ache and bleed, to yearn and cry
To wonder why, to wonder why
You did what you did, you said what you said
You lied and betrayed, you hurt and fled
You took away my joy and peace
You left behind a dark disease
That eats away at my soul and mind
That makes me blind, that makes me blind
To hope and love, to life and light
To anything but the endless night
More to my pains, your slight and laughter
To bruise a heart, in calm that rest
Of the haunting memory of your face
That I can't forget, that I can't erase
