My Muse Retired
I reached for pen to write a thought,
from brain the words were leaking.
But Muse held firmly pen in hand
and then she started speaking…
“I will not give this pen to you
for there’s been too much writing.
I cannot take another night
of working and moonlighting.
For many months you had me trapped
while you did your suppression.
Not once did you reach out for pen
to spill words in confession”.
And now for twenty days and nights
You’ve lit the flames of fire.
The only thought that I have left
is to run away, retire”.
And then she left just like she said
and left no words in stock.
I must prepare, my cupboard’s bare,
to greet my Writer’s Block.
