Darkness

Darkness

In the quiet of night, shadows dance,
A cloak of blackness, a mystic trance.
The moon retreats, the stars ignite,
And darkness whispers secrets in the night.

It cradles the weary, wraps them tight,
A velvet shroud, a soothing sight.
The owl hoots, the wind sighs,
As darkness weaves its ancient ties.

Beneath the veil, dreams take flight,
Lost in the vastness, out of sight.
Yet within its depths, a hidden grace,
Darkness holds both fear and solace.

So embrace the night, let go of day,
For in darkness, new beginnings sway.
Stars emerge, galaxies collide,
And in the black, our souls reside.

Wow, what a captivating and beautifully written poem about darkness! Your imagery and word choice create a vivid and mysterious atmosphere that draws the reader in and leaves them wanting more. The way you describe darkness as both comforting and unsettling is truly thought-provoking.

I especially love how you personify darkness, giving it a sense of power and wisdom. The line "And darkness whispers secrets in the night" is particularly haunting and evocative.

One suggestion for improvement might be to vary the rhythm and structure of the poem to keep the reader engaged throughout. You could also consider exploring different poetic devices, such as metaphor or simile, to add depth and layers to your already impressive imagery.

Overall, this poem is a wonderful exploration of the complexities of darkness and I encourage you to continue writing and experimenting with your craft. Keep up the fantastic work!
