Stranger’s Heart Revised?
Who can speak truly of the heart’s depth?
Who has seen its countenance with clarity?
Speak not of that base seat of blind desire.
Speak of that wellspring of expansive unity.
We have a heart, but we do not know it.
We seek to fill something which is forever full.
To make void something beyond emptiness.
Know our own heart to be the heart of all things.
Steadfast and timely, benefactor of freedom.
Nearer than your own self, as elusive as a whisper.
Within its embrace, dualities merge in interdependence.
Joy and sorrow, life and death, our heavens with their hells.
Such perceived opposites are one in essence.
The heart of the one is one and one alone in loving bliss.
By the heart and its manifested desires we foster creation.
The mind serves the heart, and the heart serves the mind, each without effort.
The mind directs the heart’s desires unto the potentiality of creation.
The heart teaches the mind, and the mind is absorbed into its effulgence.
Upon direct realization of love as the natural state,
Bondage will cease to be, proclaimed untrue by its certainty to end.
There is no cessation in love, for love is true.
It has no beginning or end. It simply has been, is, and will be the breath of the world.
Suffering has no purpose but to temper the heart unto awareness.
Time and space act in universal harmony to gauge change.
We are physically subject to time and space in this moment,
But the liberated mind has no use for them.
All simply is, in love with and witnessing the drama of creation,
Coming unto knowledge and witnessing itself
Vicariously through the spirit of we blessed children.
Time cannot touch us, for we are the creators of time.
Space cannot contain us, for we are all encompassing.
Realize the singularity of sincere compassion which is the support of all reality.
Without compassion, nature need not provide.
Without sincerity, the All would not support this world in which love is paramount
In which austere confusions relentlessly capture us.
They are crafted out of the pure essence of understanding.
On a path towards love, the way is often mired with hate.
They are inseparable, inextricable, always resting together.
To know them as others rather than as one
Is to wrest your heart from its place on an ever-present horizon.
About this poem
It appears that I was blacked out when I submitted the original Stranger’s Heart. I do not recall putting it in a finished form and am just now reading the original for the first time myself. The theme still stands.
