That sinking feeling

I don’t know what to do.
I don’t know what to say.

I used to think I had the answer.
A joke.
A quip.
A distraction.  
A play.

I don’t.

I can’t.

I won’t

not tonight.

Speak to people
about your mind,
no matter how “mad”
you think you might sound,
because I guarantee
that there’s a kind of people
just as sad,
just as low,
on their way,
so slowly,
sinking,
taking the call,
to the cold,
to the ground.
