Touching base

Im touching base.
The base of my soul song.
The way you make me feel.
As though my being belongs.
You hold out your arms.
The hug that seemed so lost.
"You look after me", you said
I thought: "At any cost".
Life's hectic pace was wearing us thin.
The early morning wake ups
and the late night din.
I sometimes wish we could rebegin.
But so far we made it, thats a win!
