The Challenge

He walks among the shadows
With a keen eye and ear
Letting life come to and through him
Abandoning all fear

He rises to meet his challenge
Points his finger to the one
The one who asks but never tells
And sees through the blinding sun

With a word he strikes his blow
And with it goes his strength
The one stands tall and smiles at him
Knowing always what comes next

He walks closer to the one
And thinks to kneel and bow
But the one is just too tempting
So he goes another route

Raising up his pain
He shows the one complete
But the one has seen it all
And thinks none of misery

He stands baffled at the feet
Of the one they call the one
Who proclaims himself creator
Of all under the sun

Light begins to peak out
From the edge of the horizon
The one still stands smiling
With open arms inviting

He looks on at the one
He tried so hard to defeat
It seems, that in the end
To embrace is to achieve

The two collide in matrimony
Of the spirit and the son
The two forgive each other
And in turn become one
