Voices

“It’s okay, I love you, you’re safe”

Is what I tell myself to stay calm, to behave
To put these voices back in their grave

Well.. they were never really dead
They're living rent free in my head
Open my eyes, get out of bed
I shed a tear, then I get mad

My body turns into resistance
Keeping self-love at a distance

The devil has me, it’s me he holds
I feel dead and I feel cold
Its up to me now to unfold
And to get out of this mold
