Bleed

you're a tight circle,
closed and cold,
a fortress built on
shaky ground.
i'm the moth drawn
to your flame
and i'll burn if i don't
watch myself.

i see the secrets
gathering dust
like gravestones
on some forgotten hill.
each one a weight
that's hard to lift
and i know you're paying
the price.

you're a master
of the art of deceit,
a weaver of webs,
a serpent in the night,
but i'm warning you,
the lies will consume you
and i'll be the one
who suffers most.

don't think you can keep me
in the dark.
i'll see the truth,
and i'll see through the mask
i'll follow the trail
of breadcrumbs and lies
and i'll be the one who's
left to bleed.

you may think you're safe,
but i'm not.
i'll be the one who's left
to pick up the pieces,
and I know that the truth
will always be
the cut that's too deep,
the wound that's too wide.
