my friend.

rays of warm light shine onto my skin
its like a sort of embrace
i smile at the Sun’s gesture
ive grown quite fond of it.

rays of warm light shine onto my face
i hide myself under my blanket, silently sobbing
however, the Sun’s light will always find a way to leak through the thin fabric that is my cover
sparking like an extinguished flame.

rays of warm light shine onto my face
i look to the sky, thanking the Sun for everything its done
no matter what happened, the Sun has always been there
a good friend.

rays of warm light don’t reach my face this morning.
my drawn blinds seem to block the Sun this morning
i go to lift the blinds

theyre stuck.
 cold
  its cold
   desolate.
    i miss the Sun.
