Generation in pain

Baphilisiwe phoshoko 2008 (Kalafong hospital Pretoria)

"A Generation in Pain"

We wear masks to hide our scars
And smile to conceal our tears
Our hearts are heavy, our souls are worn
From the weight of expectations and fears

We're told to be strong, to never show
The cracks in our armor, the tears we've sow
But the pressure builds, the pain grows deep
And we're left to suffer, our voices to keep

We're a generation in pain
Lost in the darkness, searching for a gain
A sense of purpose, a glimmer of hope
A chance to heal, to cope

But still we rise, we find our way
Through the shadows, into a brighter day
We speak our truth, we share our pain
And in our vulnerability, we find our strength again

Baphilisiwe phoshoko is a 16-year-old poet from Pretoria South Africa.my poetry explores themes of mental health, identity, and the struggles of the modern generation. Inspired by the works of owami cele, Baphilisiwe aims to create a voice for those who feel heard and to provide a platform for open conversation and healing.
