Cupid’s Missed Call

I may not find another but I'm glad I found her.
I lost her though and may never get her back but I'm glad we crossed paths.

Oh her love blossomed from the peaks of the earth and blazed like sunshine on my ripped darkened soul.
She was my morning dew left from the dawn’s tears and she alone had the secrets of my heart and beheld it till we were apart.

She gave up her world and all she believed in for a taste of love that once tasted bitter to her.
She only had one constant in her life and she risked her life for that constant to maintain its position.
Call it a koala but it clanged to her as she clanged on to life for what she had left.

You see, love left her in the darkness once and love brought her back but tunneled her down a darker hole, but how could i possibly know so much?
I know because I was ‘love’ holding her hand and I let go.
No I didn’t mean to, I was caught up in a folklore that convinced me this was too good to be true.
She was imperfect but was perfect in my eyes.
She was the definition of love and the embodiment of its fulfillment.
She is the only one who loved perfectly even with all her scars.

I could never match up to her, i started feeling insecure but she constantly assured me of her loyalty.
The only person i would ever trust before family was her then.
She convinced me love exists even when she didn't get it back.
Before then i always lived my life in the pages of a ‘crush’.
She became the fire of life that rekindled my rocky heart of ice like a frozen candle and to her, i will forever be grateful.
She was to me what Donna was to Harvey.

She owns a part of me and i hope she knows i am in her debt.
I can say i have moved on but tell me how to love when she has one part of my heart.

Tell me how to move on when the only love story I've known is hers and Christs.

Perfect imperfections they say.
I have loved and lost and that has only cost me a tear and a coffee for a stranger to comfort me.
But she lost her whole world trying to love again, and her only solitude was accepting coffee from a stranger to comfort him.

About this poem

It is exactly what you will find in a diary of a broken man. A man who had everything and lost it all to his thoughts. It is a poem of loyalty and sorrowful comedy of faithfulness of a stranger on a journey to find love that almost existed.

KannyBanny the The Spanish Poet

A wild country kid to a gentleman. I lived in the pages but never came out with a voice. I chose the pen over the microphone because i write from the heart and not from my mind. I am a stranger to my own words so i pen them down before they get lost in my thoughts. I am always writing a story that sits in the mind of other people. more…
